Cooper River Bridges(Grace and Pearman)

On Saturday,30 July at 0730,3500 runners will bid farewell to the Grace and Pearman Bridges. This will be the first and last race to feature both bridges and as soon as the last runner is off them,the demolition of the bridges will start.

To all who have run the yearly COOPER RIVER BRIDGE RUN,this will be kind of a sad moment,I know they were old and traffic was a night mare,but they were our hills for running,and many people walked them and got the bug to run the next year.

They will be gone soon,but I know I will be taking pictures during this last run over them,and I will miss the old girls.

Gosh, I will miss them as well. In my younger years, we would go to Charleston every year in July for a church convention, and that's what I will most remember those bridges for. It will really be a bittersweet memory.
