Once again I will put up the infamous orange map:)

So why is it again, that the Virginia Forum is is categorized under "The Northeast USA?" I get the Baltimore-DC Forum being there, but if the Orange Map is correct, then Virginia needs to secede (I'm not trying to be an S.A. here...just askin' cuz I'm curious...) :P

And believe me, there are areas in and around Orlando and Central Florida that belong in the orange, too. Ever been to Brooksville, Christmas, or Bithlo? :silly:

Man.  WV is a weirdly shaped state.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Yea - there are several factors at play there, geographically and politically:

the Mason Dixon Line (the border between Pennsylvania and West Virginia)

the Potomac River (the border between Maryland and West Virginia)

the Ohio River (the border between Ohio and West Virginia)

the Big Sandy River (the border betwen Kentucky and West Virginia)

a prominent ridge line in the Allegheny Mountains (the border between West Virginia and Virginia)

etc.

interesting topic...I personally always thought of WV as a southern state just because of its people/history.

But IMO it is geographically located in the North.

So i guess you could call it a southern state in a northern states body

LOL i dont know...
