portland and portsmouth among largest cities in US

hard to believe, but at one time, both port cities out-ranked hartford and many others in population counts. just thought it was a bit interesting.

this was only an interesting fact, garris, not a display of anyone;s self importance or civic importance, those, i would imagine, would be something one should carry with them regardless of their town of residence.
