Need some advice about moving to Tampa Bay area

I've been thinking about possibly relocating there. What I would like to know are which are the nicest areas to live given these constraints:

1) I want to be near the beach, preferably right on the beach or a very short walk/drive away from the beach so I've been looking at the barrier islands of Pinellas County on the gulf...does the bay side of Pinellas and Hillsborough have nice beaches?

2) I have no need for single family homes. Condo or townhouse for me with typical amenities like pool/gym in the building or community.

3) I would like to focus on properties under $300k.

4) I only require a 1bedroom condo and 900 or so square feet. Obviously more sq. footage is better but I will be paying for view and proximity to water and beach. I do not care so much for lots of space.

You might want to consider moving to South Tampa, Westshore, or even Downtown Tampa! Very close to beaches and convinent to shopping, airports, restauraunts, and the beaches.

South Tampa is not close to any beach worth going to. The only Tampa beaches I can think of are Picnic Island (southern tip of Westshore Blvd) and the beaches along the Courtney Campbell.

For areas near nice beaches, you would want to be in the West Tampa area (ie Westchase, Oldsmar) so that you could travel over to Clearwater.

I agree with all the other benefits of South Tampa (ie. "shopping, airports, restauraunts")
