Slow Food Movement in Charlotte

Recommended Posts

There's an article from last Tuesday's Observer about the Charlotte chapter of Slow Food.

Fashionably late, Slow Food is here

The organization's mission is to promote gastronomic awareness, conserve agricultural biodiversity and protect traditional foods. It holds an annual gathering in Turin, Italy, as well as workshops and seminars in many places
The group is planning a slow food festival to be held in September. If you're interested in being involved, here is the contact info for the Charlotte Chapter:

The Slow Food Charlotte convivium will emphasize the importance of conversation, curiosity and community building. The group will focus on farmers, markets and agricultural history and discover food traditions in the region and beyond. Thom Duncan is a lover of all things food and wine. He believes that starting a convivium is an opportunity to build a community
