New shopping plaza rocks on in Bedford

BEDFORD - Driving into the Bedford Highlands shopping center is not unlike a trip through the Rocky Mountains.

When the stores open this fall, shoppers will be greeted with large stone retaining walls built in terrace fashion as they drive up to Lowe's and Target, the two anchor stores.

Former Bedford Planning Board member Denis Parker described the walls as "looking like something out of a Harry Potter movie" and said they were part of the project's design when the project was reviewed.
