The Central Park Group plans to redevelop the 484 unit housing complex into a 60 acre mixed use, mixed-income community with 4,000 condos & townhomes with an average price of $300k by 2008. Public housing units would be mixed in with the market rate apartments.

Since they are the only group still in the running, let's just please cut through the bureaucratic BS, declare them the winner, and move forward on revitalizing this long-neglected neighborhood.

I feel this location is the key to complete the urban development to make Tampa into one of the better cities to live in. Channelside/Ybor will benifit greatly, espcially local business. If they can create a residential feel with a twist, you will get alot of urban sprawlers to move back into the city. I hope the city, county comissioners, and all local goverment welcomes this plan. If they balk at this one, it may be some time again before another plan like this comes around. I can't see any weakness in what this developer want to do to this area. I just pray Tampa does not drop the ball again!!!!!!!!!!!
