The roughly 40-block area between the La Villa and Riverside neighborhoods has seen plans for its renaissance come and go since the 1980s. The neighborhood is home to The Haskell Co., Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Florida, Fidelity National Financial and The St. Joe Co.

Following the pre-proposal hearing, the consultants and developers will have until Sept. 2 to submit their implementation strategies. The groups will be evaluated based partly on their expertise in redevelopment and affordable housing projects, Smith said. A winner is expected to be named by the end of September.

I'm a little skeptic over what is left of Brooklyn, because we now see that Fidelity is kinda building crappy design, and Riverside Avenue was turned into a waterfront version of University Blvd....
