Was on the roof of 21 Weston today and got another video of Aero Med landing on Butterworth hospital. This time they came from the West and I had something to rest my arm on for a smoother video. It's up on Flickr:

Check out the set for the more photos and others that I took today.

There's an interesting video by Andy Dragt on Rapid Growth today about the new med school. Some amazing views from up there!

The med school has already received 5000 applications for the 156 initial spots they will have in 2010.

I met a guy on Monday who's wife is one of the first 100. He has a computer job that he's able to work remotely, even though his company is in Arizona. He said they bought a place in Riverhouse and they really like it here and are probably going to stay through her residency if they can.

The big empty lot on Michigan just west of Fuller has activity today (cranes, bulldozers, etc) after nothing but "coming soon" signs for 2-3 years. All the signs promising a forthcoming medical building are gone so I wonder what the story is now.... :dontknow:

New hardware store, isn't it?

You're welcome.

The old Right Aid/Red Geranium building is going to face the wrecking ball soon to make way for a new 58 space surface lot for Spectrum employees (can't remember if it was mentioned here before).

I believe that's Spectrum shuttle lot #4 added recently for Michigan St/Plymouth Ave?

Gee, a streetcar would save them a whole lot of trouble running those shuttle busses back and forth...

Exactly. Have it go all the way to East Beltline (or at least to Plymouth).

HDVCH has now released new renderings of the building without the spire. They also have a floor-by-floor breakdown on their site:

Must have come to the realization that the spire was a whole lot of money for a needle sticking into the sky.

It's too bad that is going away, it would have been cool to see something that high up in the skyline.
