I thought a land swap to move then to the other side of the street might work at some point.  they won’t be able to extend to far down Michigan on the north side with Heritage Hill bordering it.

I think some kind of residential (hotel or hospitality house) might be cool there, and put McDonald's on the main floor. Seems like I heard recently that all the hospitality houses (Ronald McDonald House, Renucci, St Mary's) are basically full all the time, and that people are regularly referred to downtown hotels instead.

Are “hospital hotels” a thing? Kinda of like an airport hotel (attaches to the complex, no need to leave). Seems like that would be an interesting idea for an extended stay-suite chain.

This whole thing is really weird. They list liabilities of $1 Million to $10 Million, but only list assets of $1 - $50,000. So who owns all of the buildings now? Did the new management firm just get transferred all of that real estate and not have to buy them? 

Seems like a big shell game to me.

The buildings and their financing packages must have been transferred to the new entity.  I have to imagine that was included in the re-org of original assets.  If it were not their liabilities would be in the hundreds of millions, even with every project as an individual LLC.  Notice there are not many financial institutions listed as creditors.

That is true, but it's also interesting that the new entity is pretty much the same investor group (minus Coppess) according to the article.

I see some of the creditors are First Companies and Jeffrey Baker Trust (Baker family owns First Companies I believe. Unfortunate that they got burned, they're good people from experiences with them about 20 years ago.

It's just a bunch of suburban style townhouses. I'll see if I can dig up some of the drawings.

The owner/developer of Redstone Group (suburban condos) is proposing to build a 20 unit 2 story apartment building at 1542 Michigan St, behind an existing 12 unit apartment building. One of those complexes that you don't even notice typically.

Traffic is coming in and out onto Michigan. No home is really going to be affected by that. "Noise" is just to vague. If someone is going to be that loud, then just call the landlord or the police.

I can understand why the neighbors wouldn't want their backyard woods replaced with an apartment complex. But you can never rely on land you don't own.
