FYI, the Jail addition will be painted tomorrow starting at 9am. It will be a three dimensional design, kind of like looking through a tunnel. Not great looking but not to bad either. I guess it is better than just plain concrete.

It is jsut a generic design but it looks decent. Work should have started today but the painter is still waiting on the rental lift to arrive. So, this afternoon or morning at the latest.

Yeah they were this morning too. They were also doing some taping off of sections. Actual paint should start going on Saturday morning.

Somebody should take some 'before' pictures. It won't take long to 'forget' how much it needed the improvement.

It would have been a good idea to have a competition for ideas on what to do with the space. School children, adults, everyone could have participated.

There is not going to be a mural. It is a design that will be painted not a mural. Yes, work has been started on this. By the end of next week it should be obvious as to the design.

No pics to offer, but it looks very boring. They left three bare squares of concrete wall in the middle and painted all around it (hopefully it's not finished yet....if it is, it doesn't look much better than it did previously).

They should really just paint the whole damned thing one solid color and use a projector to project a slide show of giant advertisements onto the side of the building for upcoming events in Greenville (G-Drive baseball games, upcoming events at the Bi-Lo Center, upcoming shows at the Peace Center, Downtown Alive, Main Street Jazz, Music by the Reedy River, Shakespeare in the Park, Moonlight Movies, various festivals, etc.).

Saw this for the first time this evening. Looks better already, but I am curious what will go in the three bare areas. Anyone know? g-vegasman? You had the scoop on this one.

Nothing will go inside of the squares. They will jsut be outlined with a three dimensional black color. Almost like windows.

Yup just bare concrete. The west side of the building looks even worse. A lot of bare concrete on that side. That side is finished.
