I'm not sure if any of you care, but Tulsa was announced as one of the expansion teams for the NBA's Development League a few months ago. Their logo and team identity were announced a few days ago.

I heard that the NO Hornets might be play in your city.  Any word there?

The Hornets are looking strongly at OKC and KC as potential sites to relocate for now. All 3 large Texas cities already have teams. OKC has a better facility, so you may have a REAL NBA team soon enough.

All these cities wanting to have the Hornets relocate out of state is like picking a dead man's pockets.

They should, and probably will, play at the Maravich Center in Baton Rouge.

there is nothing wrong with helping accomodate the team. if they do decide to stay in louisiana then thats great. it is the nbas choice to stay in that area, but if they cant stay there okc is the top contender right now for a temp relocation. an nba delegation was in the city the other day, and they really liked what we had to offer. the nba is set to visit the 13,500 seat century tel center in shrevport/bossier next week. other cities have offered theyre arenas as well. these other cities cant offer what okc can which is a debt free nba ready arena and an open schedule for all home games.

sorry for drifting away from the tulsa topic, but does anyone really care anyway? j/k! but... okc has reached an agreement with the nba for the hornets to play at least part of the season at the ford center. both the city and nba want to see the team play here until new orleans can get back on its feet. the mayor said the lease is still in the final stages but the council shoud have it approved in a speacial meeting 8:30 am wednesday. wether any games are to be played in baton rouge is still uncertain. if the team makes a move to okc it will establish most of its base operation here and a smaller office in NO or baton rouge, and relocate 100 employees from louisiana. they will also hire an extra 50 to do a rapid ramp telemarketing for ticket sales.
