Per Webmaster Neo’s wise advice, I have chosen not to see the posts of that participant. My apologies if I didn’t respond to something I didn’t see.

Spenser, you can’t take this stuff too seriously or it will give you an ulcer...both you and Dale have been around the block longer than I have...I read, I ingest, I analyze, and I respond...or not...depending...it’s all good...

Orlando growth expected to continue in 2019 despite possibility for national slowdown:

From the Sentinel

Perhaps best of all, OEP Head Tim Giuliani predicts Creative Village will change the dynamic of downtown in a significant way.

Orlando No. 1 again for pedestrian deaths

https://www.orlandosentinel.com/news/transportation/os-ne-orlando-deadliest-pedestrians-worsening-20190122-story.html

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

People complain when you reduce traffic lane to put in a bike lane, people complain when you dont build parking for the arena, people complain building is too big when you increase density, they rather spend billions on highway than trains.....this is Orlando....

I heard from a buddy who lives around there that the NIMBY locals are ready to riot over anything that is presented that isn't exactly what they have now.  Which makes no sense at all.  He says that's the mentality out that way, though.

This was the ‘hood that nearly went to war over sidewalks (and caused Patty Sheehan to have her district redrawn without it) so that would be consistent.

BTW, Patty is running unopposed so far for re-election. This will be for a 6th term.

Traffic’s gonna be a Bear this weekend between football, soccer, a big concert at the Am and lots of students moving in and starting classes at UCF/VD:

From Bungalower

Plan accordingly. We wanted a busy downtown and it looks like we’re getting one!

Since there does not appear to be a Seminole County topic I'll place this here.

Longwood’s greyhound track sells; future development could remake city

32 acres, possibly mixed use.

I haven't been then way since I last visited Hourglass Brewing several years ago, but the area could sure use some improvement.

Henry Plant...as in Plant Street?

That would be him (also Plant City) - founder of the Plant System. He was to Central Florida and Tampa Bay what Henry Flagler was to the east coast.

A breakthrough may lead to a remedy for citrus greening which, along with the subdivision plague, has decimated much of Florida’s remaining citrus industry.

Washington State University and UF are the ones working on it. Go Gators!

OUC upping its green factor - soon to be#1 in Florida on at least one solar measure:

Thank goodness for municipally-owned utilities like OUC: cheaper, more reliable and now greener! (Not to mention helping to keep our taxes lower by contributions to the city’s budget instead of Wall Street...)

OCPS goes RAINBOW:

not a headline; I was looking for an "events" thread.  This past weekend was EDC.  I was told it was huge...again...

I think there is an events thread in the coffee house
