Haha, Ive got to stop betting! Ive already lost a quarter today on a bet about a mile marker..... :lol:

Hey guys, just got back from D.C. last night. We decided to cancel the hotel reservations in Montomgery and roll on through towards New Orleans. The trip from Charlotte to New Orleans was very cool, especially driving through Atlanta.

Look for some pictures soon!

Good to have you back. Sometimes when you are away for a time, you are just ready to come back, esp. when you are that close to home. I wrote you a couple of times, once on the weather tread; and on another tread, I think it was La. photo of the day ?

I just realized that my 1 year anniversary here at UP was on June 24th when I was up in D.C. Just wanted to say that despite all of the things that have happened since June 24th, 2005, I've had a great time here at UP, and here's to another great year here at UP and in the Louisiana forum! :thumbsup:

Thanks Nate. The time sure does fly and there are no brakes to slow it down, maybe an accelerator.. Except for those nasty sister's Katrina and Rita. That seemed to make time stand still for awhile.

I read somewhere that Louisiana is an urban state. So this forum is justified for sure. I need to look for it.

Yep, this forum definately helps justify it. Even if we're not that big and active compared to some other forums in the Southern section, we're moving along quite well. When I joined a year ago, I was literally the only member here from Louisiana. And now, if you think about it, we have quite a little crowd here on UP that are from, or have ties to, Louisiana, even if they're not all that active.

Almost 1 year for Louisiana... wow. Cool.

As for me making it down there, if I could I'd take you up on that. Besides, I now have a tripod and I can do like I've seen so many other people do and set my tripod up in the middle of Canal!!!
