Looking at this on flickr, I noticed this was taken Sunday. I was there as well with some friends and we spotted two copperheads swimming in the river. (you didn't see rocks stacked in the river, did you? that was us .

I was out there early and didn't have a chance to get back until much later in the day, so we probably missed each other. If you look through a few of the photos I posted yesterday, you will notice a few additional shots of wildlife in the park. Just over a week ago I caught a hawk perched above the park as well. It is fun to see what other creatures live in downtown.

I've seen maybe two pair of blue herons that live around Cleveland Park for probably the last ten years.

Beautiful! That's one of my favorite spots to sit and watch the falls and people. Now that people are banned from the falls, it makes it a little less interesting

Just over a week ago I caught a hawk perched above the park as well. It is fun to see what other creatures live in downtown.

While I was working at the Drive game sunday a hawk was slowly flying over the field. I guess it was checking things out.

Is that tree in the park?

Yes, along the opposite bank just below the lower falls. I love that old thing because it seems "historically" interesting, like a monument to a great warrior whose memory has faded into the distant past.
