Found this video

Greenville, SC

Saw this video earlier....thanks!  The guy that made it commented  that he was hindered with making additional shots (esp. Falls Park) due to all the 'no fly' zones around the city.... height is capped at 196 ft.   Wondering who observes and police this.  Perhaps gman430 can enlighten how this works...

That guy is correct.

I fly a DJI Mavic 2 Pro drone. The DJI GO 4 app I use on my phone that attaches to the controller so I can fly the drone has flight restrictions built in for like being in flight paths or trying to fly over a jail, airport, etc.

And yes there is a good chunk of downtown that is capped at 196 feet due to being in the flight path of the downtown airport. The drone will not fly any higher than that in this restricted area. That’s why you never see pics from on top of Falls Tower within the Camperdown development but rather just from the sides. It will also not fly over jails, prisons, airports, military bases, some government institutions, national parks, etc.

Lol. DJI is the one who implements the flight height limits in their app not the FAA which is why you see buildings taller than 196 feet downtown.

Great Photos Gman430 and thanks again for the great photos you posted in the Nashville forum!

I was in Greenville year before last doing my city exploration trips and was very impressed with what I saw. Once Covid is over I will try and get back down that way again as I have family that lives not too far away.

Also Gman, once Covid is over, and you are back in Nashville reach out to myself or Markhollin and we will be glad to give you the grand tour.

If you are interested, I have a list of all of the under construction and proposed projects with renderings I can send to you or post somewhere here, but I never want to hijack a forum. There are still like 60 more buildings listed as proposed that are 10 to 60 stories and four more that I cant freely talk about yet.

Thanks for the warm welcome. :) Crazy what happened there this morning. I’ll definitely try and get back to Nashville sometime early-mid next year.  If you could send me a PM with all of the projects you’re allowed to that would be great. Will definitely help me in the future figuring out what take to take aerial shots of and what each project is.

I have already sent the PM to you. Remember some of what I sent is a little on the private side as far as new projects that are not listed. I am the super sleuth finding this stuff and keeping track of it as I do the development map for Nashville.

Looks as if it is IMO a terrorist attack. Yes, I will say it because no one else has, but a bomb in a RV on a downtown street in a major US city is a terrorist attack. My thought is they were trying to take out the huge AT & T facility right in front of where the bomb went off.
