urban/rural clash

i took all of these pictures today (augist 10th). some of them are of portland, and the others are of the rocky coast of cape elizabeth, a filthy rich portland suburb. the castle-like structures are old and abandoned military forts, the boat is some sort of a cruise ship that is very common and a regular sight in portland. the night time shot is of a rig in portland harbor taken from under the CBB. enjoy.

i cannot remember portland ever being as urban as it feels right now...summer days on the peninsula are beautiful and exciting and summer nights downtown are hoppin'

Yeah I saw a banner hung up on the side of this building that said "lofts for sale" or whatever.

It's nice to see some residential projects on Congress Street. They are working on that Monument Plaza condo thing now too.
