Tom Robinson's store-front beautification efforts on Broad Street called "Vacant Spaces/Artful Places" have been very successful -- 26 of the 46 properties he targeted on Broad have been sold, leased or have contracts pending. Now he's branching out to Hull Street in Manchester.

Thanks to Wrldcoupe4 for digging up this exciting information and to Ryan Ramsey for posting his exciting photos of the building on his RCW site.

Dogtown Dance PAC on Bainbridge at 15th Street in Manchester is a wonderful venue for dance in Richmond as well as Charlottesville and other areas.

Bet a quarter those of you interested in the performing arts, especially dance, don't know much about this space. Check out the entire web site.

I saw this interesting item in The Commercial Notes segment of today's inRich:

"RVA Construction, a commercial general contractor serving the Richmond region, has purchased the building at 515 Hull Street in South Richmond for its corporate headquarters and to provide more space for the company. The building, which has been vacant for many years, will be completely renovated. Richmond's 3 North is serving as architects for the renovation project."

My comment: I believe this is in the area of Plant Zero and some warehouses recently converted to residential in the Hull Street corridor. The Hustings Courthouse just a few blocks south is being expanded. Mayoral contender Dwight Jones is somehow connected with a development in and around the old Venus Theatre which includes residential and retail on Hull.
