Better services including Police and Fire protection. That, in turn, can lead to cheaper insurance rates.

There's also better opportunities with development in the City than the County for such developments, by in-large.

Interesting... Van's Chocolates opened in the Village last year, too. I'm not opposed to competition, but are these companies doing any market research at all? That's pretty close proximity for 2 chocolate stores. Hope we can avoid a vacant store front.

I don't know anything about either business, but I guess it depends on how much they depend on in-person sales. Or, if it's mainly production and they're distributing via mail or other outlets throughout the region.  I don't know.

The Burger King that was proposed for Academy and Pendleton (old bank building) is coming back.  It was  May 2018 when it first came up.  It has been designed to not require the RDV parcel, so no city boards need to approve it.
