Non-stop air service between GRR and Vegas

Northwest has announced that they will begin nonstop service between Grand Rapids and Las Vegas begining October 30th. Details can be found at www.grr.org. Not a huge fan of Vegas, but I like to see more options coming to the airport. I would also like to see a "discount" carrier like Southwest set up shop at GRR.

I thought southwest was going to start some services to chicago or something from GRR, am I wrong? I swear thats what I read in the Press a few months ago.
