I miss Publix doing these murals. There was a time period when most new Publix stores that were built got a sort of local mural done. I believe (just guessing here) that these stores were built late 80's to early 90's? These pieces of art always gave your Publix a local flair. Sorry they don't do them anymore. Soon these "Mural Publix" will be just as rare as the neon flashing arrow/triangle Publix which I'm not sure if any of these exist anymore.

In some way I wish they could have moved the old murals to the new stores. Too bad that didn't happen on Pensacola Street. There's another good one over there where Gold's gym now sits.

A group of phtoographers, amateurs and pros alike, will be gathering this afternoon for a downtown Tallahassee photo safari.

We are meeting at the Vietnam Memorial (giant flag) at the corner of Apalachee Parkway and Monroe Street at 5PM.

We'll roam around downtown from there for a couple hours taking pics of whatever catches our eye.

Afterwards, we'll grab dinner and drinks somewhere.

All are welcome. Simply show up at 5pm or track us down somewhere downtown thereafter.
