Until these aerial shots were uploaded this week, I didn't realize the tower is trapezoidal-- there are five bays on the NW side and only four on the SE side. It makes sense, because the lot isn't square, but I had just assumed they would/had built a structure with regular angles, but apparently they used every square foot they could.

Whoa...wait...really? That kind of makes this building even more interesting.

I like that you said this because a lot of buildings and businesses in and around the city don't have included lots/decks, yet they're still very busy, and people make do. This building is one example, but the current and new library is another example, many of the buildings in the government district also don't have on site parking but instead offer validation for off site decks which require a but of a haul. The Spectrum Center doesn't have any included parking either, though I am aware the deck across the street was built with it in mind. Fourth Ward is a neighborhood where I'd argue parking is most restricted. The streets require a residential permit after a certain amount of time and many of the townhome/apartments there only have one spot per unit, while most of the city provides one spot per bedroom, not to mention the option to purchase extra. 

Many neighborhoods outside of uptown also have their own parking "issues." The ever popular Thirsty Beaver in Plaza Midwood has only motorcycle parking, and the Common Market relies on street parking as their neighbors are not terribly generous. The lots that do exist are a hodgepodge of pay lots and the infamous "boot camp" at the Central Square shopping center. The Harris Teeter has minimal parking for a grocery store of it's size, I've seen European Supermarkets with less parking, and lest we forget a new office project was approved at the post office site with no additional parking requirements. In Southend, NoDa, you name it, there are dozens of buildings with no dedicated parking. If any business uses lack of parking as an excuse for their closing, they are making up a reason for their failings, or their clientele might be better served by a suburban location.

Looking nothing like a typical Charlotte Street scape. Which, quite frankly, is pretty nice. Love the sight lines these infill buildings are creating. Not everything has to be super sized to make it important and visually appealing.

Agreed!

We don't get to see much action directly from 4th ward. We did see skyhouse rise and when FNB get some height it will be very noticeable from  the 4th ward park... Can see the crane fr there.
