Best all-time playoff team in the NFL

7 posts in this topic

The Steelers could become the second most winningest team EVER for playoff victories this year.

Here is the breakdown of total franchise playoff victories up through last season:

Cowboys 33

Raiders 25

Packers 25

49ers 25

Steelers 24

Redskins 22

Dolphins 20

Rams 19

Vikings 18

Broncos 16

Eagles 16

Giants 16

Patriots 16

Titans 14

Bears 14

Bills 14

Colts 13

Browns 11

Jets 8

Chiefs 8

Chargers 7

Lions 7

Falcons 6

Buccs 6

Ravens 5

Bengals 5

Panthers 4

Jaguars 4

Cardinals 3

Seahawks 3

Saints 1

Texans 0

With the Raiders, Packers and 49ers all having a fat chance at making the playoffs my Steelers if they do as well or one game better as last season (and with great seasons to follow) will almost assurdly be camping out at the 2nd place ALLTIME, if the Cowboys continue to be lackluster, my Steelers could become the best ALLTIME playoff team in just three or four seasons! Interesting in hearing your views and predictions on this.

Texans have yet to get to the playoffs . . . the old Oilers team (now the Titans) had lots of playoff victories for the city of Houston though.

I think the Steelers could very well make it up to 2nd this season, they should make a deep run in the playoffs again this season. I haven't been paying too close attention yet, but right now I think it will come down to the Steelers and Colts for the AFC Championship. The winner will likely be who ever ends up with home field advantage.

If its Colts/Steelers for the AFC title game then that bodes well, the last two times we met them in the playoffs we went to the Superbowl (1996 and 1978 I think)

:D then again they didn't have Eli those years.

The Panthers could move up a few spots too with a superbowl win. Not too shabby for such a young team.
