What do you guys know about Evansville? I know that it has 120,000 people in it and that it has a land area of 40 sq mi. thanks to my friends at Wikipedia. But other than that I don't even know where it's located in the state.

Its located in the SW tip of the state, across the river from Henderson, KY on the Ohio River. Its significant urban/commercial center for the region and the state. Serves a major riverport and manufacturing center. There is a Toyota assembly plant located just north of Evansville in Princeton, IN.

What other type of info are you looking for?

It is Old National Bank you are referring to. It has the tower in this thread, but that building is rented out to several differant bussinesses. It also has a restaurant on the top of the roof overlooking the city and Ohio River. The building that you read about ended up being a more modern sprawling building after 9-11. It is a bigger much nicer building than the tower in this thread, but it went away from the tower design as do most companies now. The headquarters is in Evansville, but there is a nice modern high rise "Old National" in downtown Indianapolis. The city probably has over a half of a million. It has a small land area so the population seems lower than the area. It shares a televison market with Henderson, KY and Owensboro, KY (3rd largest city in KY). It is still the 3rd largest city in Indiana population wise, but I would say that it is probably as big of an area overall as Ft. Wayne. I know a television market (since that is what I do) is an accurate way to gauge the real size of a city. I think it is the 86 largest market in America. It could be higher or lower now, because everything from 30 on up seems to be pretty close. The downtown pictures refered in this thread look good, but the city thrives on it's East Side. The downtown has been dead at night for years. There is a Casino, Jillian's, & a few other atractions as the city is trying to make an effort to spark downtown. The major stadium that supports concerts & most of the events is far away from downtown. I know that there are talks about either remodling the stadium or even moving it downtown. Evansville once supported a AAA baseball team & was offered a AA team a few years ago if they built a proposed Baseball stadium downtown. That idea was voted down by the citizens. As it stands there is nothing, but semi-pro football and baseball.
