George Hincapie Day

Just saw a fun commercial on Discovery Channel....it shows Lance choosing who will take his place. He's standing at a podium and it pans over to show George among others, all hoping to be the next Lance. Cute commercial. :) Didn't catch the whole commercial, so not sure if it was for a new reality show, or just tongue and cheek.

It has been a solid start for Hincapie in this year's Tour. He has finished near the front in both of the first two days and is only 7 seconds back of the leader. He isn't expected to contend for the overall title but is hoping to get a stage win along the way. His new team looks good so far.

This morning everything looked less positive, with Levi Leipheimer having just broken his wrist. I really hope George will be able to hold on and continue gaining momentum. That would make this year's USA Cycliing Professional Championships in Greenville an even more special homecoming for him. :shades:

It was a great ride by George today. He was pretty upset after finishing only 5 seconds off the yellow jersey.

It would be great if he could win it all, but the mountains will be tough for him. Others are better suited for the climbs and he must have burned a lot of energy today.
