Center City Park: DT Greensboro

I was in Greensboro recently and enjoyed dinner at Europa Cafe with friends. While I was there we walked over the the Center City Park and I was very impressed. What really got my attention was the amount of people, especially kids, playing and relaxing in the park at 9pm on a Friday. We are in the process of designing a similar park for downtown Charlotte and this one gave me some good ideas to take home. Cheers to G'boro for a job well done. I took a few pics while I was there:

CCP is definitely classic, and I believe it will age gracefully.

well they turned the fountains off due to water restrictions. I tell you they need to hurry up an get that Randleman Dam finished or start getting water from the Yadkin River like Winston.

I think it's a bit excessive to have the fountains running during the daytime. IMO, these water restrictions should be mandatory every day of the year. The Yadkin is already down a few feet or so.

I dont undestand why Greensboro cant get its water from the yadkin. Greensboro is not that much further away from Winston. But Greensboro can still have the Randleman Dam as a water source and Lake Townsend which is the primary source today. If Greensboro expects to grow and become a metropolis, the city has to have plenty of water.

I am getting concerned about the homeless element that has invaded center city park. I have heard it is affecting sales at center pointe.

Correct the Cape Fear river comes through Guilford county as Haw River which is the main branch of the Cape Fear river.

the city does need to look at a river for its source of water since water in a river is more plentiful.
