South Georgia. Everything I heard was always negative. I went to college w/ a girl who said that her high school had seperate proms.

I would think race. I've seen a few programs on this and they have even made movies.

Yeah, 20/20 did a special on it a few years ago. It seemed that the white residents of some hick town there didn't want their kids dancing to Outkast or whatever and decided to throw a private prom and invite only their close friends. Of course somehow close friends included just about everyone in the town except the black people. All these small town people somehow raised enough money to throw their kids a prom Laguna Beach style at some fancy hotel in Columbus while the black kids got stuck with the taxpayer funded dance. All I remember from there was all the white kids wanting to dance to country music and I remembered thinking that everything south of Macon and Columbus (besides Valdosta) must be a pretty depressing place to live--or at least that was the way it was presented by the segment.

That's funny. South Georgia is definately not ready for that.

All of Arkansas, but most specifically the I-40 corridor and northward with the exception of Northwest Arkansas and Little Rock. It is stereotyped as hillbilly and correctly so.
