Thoas never worked to start with. It was so easy to pay off the 'inspectors' that it made them useless. Maybe they have some kind of new thing that prevents it now. It has been quite a few years since they got rid of them.

I know inspections are required in NC. Have they been able to avoid "bribing" the inspectors?

At any rate, I see that as one of many things the state could do to avoid federal sanctions.

Well, according to a recent report, the Upstate is nearly back into compliance with these air standards. Whatever we are doing must be working. :)
