Roanoke Stores and Retail

In most towns, they locate across the street from each other anyway. The ones in Northwest Roanoke are only about 3/4 mile apart. The Christinasburg stores are about a 1/2 mile apart.

Lowe's and Home Depot don't kill each other off generally. Most people cross-shop between the two, so putting them close by makes it more convenient, which potentially means better sales for both.

I think what Roanoke could really use is a high-end kitchen store like Williams-Sonoma or Sur La Table. I'm amazed at the items I've had to buy here in Richmond for some of my family because they can't find them anywhere in Roanoke.
