A "barcade" is trying to open in ghent. We have something similar near where I live in TX and it's fun a nice spot to go with friends.

I’ve been waiting for Norfolk to do something like this for a couple years now. That’s awesome, but I hate that Belmont closed. They had really good food.

MacArthur's lease plan on LoopNet shows a pending lease for "Brass Tap Room" for the former Max & Erma's space.

Potentially this?   https://www.brasstapbeerbar.com/default.aspx

Could be.  Looking at their website, they go up and down the East Coast from NYC to Florida with a gap between Baltimore and Charlotte.

This was mentioned here before, but the future of the Nordstrom at MacArthur is up in the air.

This quote seems a little dramatic, IMO. I hope they can work something out, but I don't think Nordstrom leaving is an indicator of what Norfolk has or doesn't have to offer.

Speaking of breweries, Ocean View could soon add a couple of microbreweries. COVA (cOVa) wants to open off Shore Drive, and Bold Mariner plans to add a second location at 1901 E. Ocean View Ave., in a former Bank of the Commonwealth.

Possible new Barcade coming to downtown Norfolk at 258 Granby St. The Circuit Norfolk.

One is currently in Richmond.   https://www.thecircuitarcadebar.com

I love the concept and believe it would be a hit.

Any idea of how big it will be?  It seems like it will have a lot more games than the one currently under construction in Ghent. I’ve heard it being discussed but do you have any more info?

I’ve wanted Norfolk to do something like this for a few years now. Glad it may finally happen.

Here's the Pilot article. Looks like it would be up to 12,000 square feet, which is a pretty nice size.

One of the men trying to make it happen says downtown could use something like this, and I agree. There's bars and clubs, but not much on the entertainment side, outside of maybe Tap It Local. You had potential with Granby Social Club, but the owners never gave that a chance.
