New Condo Project in Fayetteville

Yeah, I'm still not sure what the university is going to do with the land. Which reminds me I drove by that area earlier today. I need to get some pics of the work done on the new outdoor track and field stadium. You can tell they are pushing it, they were working on it today, Easter Sunday.

I met with some UA officials recently about Razorback... I don't think they have immediate plans for property they've recently obtained west of Razorback. They talked about possibly linking a road back there behind that property through the old day-care center, which they owned and will thus demolish if they follow through (and I used to go to when I was a kid... oh well!)... while moving/closing some driveways for safety improvements.

If the UA is serious about their goal of expanding to 22,000 students in the near future, they are going to darn near have to do just that.

Yeah they are really wanting to make the university bigger. I guess they could build up more. Which raises an interesting question. You never hear about the height restrictions the city is considering affecting the university. Although when was the last time they built anything above 6 stories anyway. Well actually I forgot about the Poultry Science Building, it might be 6 stories I can't remember now.

Colleges and Universities are exempt from city ordinances as they are state-run agencies. So, the UA doesn't have to worry about anything the PC passes.

I think the poultry science building is only 4 stories anyway. But the new parking garage is 9! Also those pictures Mith took on the U of A topic, look like whatever they are building in the same area of the parking garage, are going to be 5 or 6 stories.
