Chief Justice William Rehnquist Dies at age 80

I was checking out the WWL-New Orleans website when I saw a link it's article on this:

Rehnquist dies of cancer

He died of cancer in Arlington surrounded by his 3 children. This ended a career of 33 years on the Supreme Court. This creates a second vacancy on the court.

RIP. He has altered the lives of millions and most never realise it.

Bush now has 2 seats on the bench to fill....that has some serious future potential right there.

It is also, as the article says, quite a rarity for two vaccancies to happen at once.

The Chief Justice is dead. I've heard few tears...maybe because he was a vabid right-winger, an enemy of civil rights and personal freedoms, a man who even reportedly intimidated Latin voters in Arizona when he was younger......

No one wants to spit at the dead. But I just hope no one forgets all the damage Rehnquist did to our country.
