I wanted to wait until after Hurricane Dorian passed to post but the new intermodal transportation facility in N Chas has opened last week.  The facility serves as an Amtrak station, CARTA station and regional bus service from Southeastern Stages.

Nice upgrade over the old Amtrak station that was located at the same location.

I made a day trip to Charleston yesterday, from Columbia, and was very impressed by the traffic volume.  We left IOP at @ 3:00 and 526 at the Don Holt Bridge was completely stopped. Then, merging onto 26, that was interesting. I love Charleston and the Low Country, and we had a good time. I also noticed both Chas and Greenville have lights on the interstate, near each respective downtown. We lack that in Cola. It always feels so dark coming back home at night, and I wish we could have some lighting added as part of the larger Carolina Crossroads project.
