I'm surprised no one mentioned Minneapolis:

The City of Lakes:

This comes from the Dakota word Minne (meaning water) and Polis (Greek for city).

That's where the word Minnesota comes from: Minne-water and Sota-clear/sky colored.

The Mini Apple (This one speaks for itself).

The mill city (being the top producer of flour in the world until about 1920).

Minneapolis and St. Paul together: The Twin Cities (They aren't really twins, as they are two distinct cities, but they are so close together).

The Cities (as referred to by anyone not living in 'the cities' but lives in Minnesota).
