Raleigh: Part of the Research Triangle (including Durham and Chapel Hill), Raleigh is as hot as it gets, thanks to a healthy job market, a billion-dollar downtown rehab, top universities and plentiful, inexpensive housing. One-bedroom apartment: $650/month.  Not-in-NYC bonus: $9,218

Pretty decent company if you ask me. Austin, Atlanta, Nashville, Denver...moving on up folks, moving on up. I'm glad to see that the investment in downtown has caught the eye of national publications as well.

People in the Triangle are cool as well. Everyone I have met from Raleigh are always so laid back. Hopefully this won't change with development.

Ok 1 bedroom apartments go for cheaper then $650/mo, hell my last 2 bedroom was cheaper then $650/mo....I'm assuming that they are speaking of average rents...maybe the average downtown rent combined with north Raleigh rent pushes the figure up to $650....it's definately cheaper to live in east/west/south Raleigh...

That's great, I like that word. Despite what Kiplinger's says, being home to Clay Aiken, and having the Sak's 5th Avenue, we really do live in a nerdistan.
