I've heard, even here in Charlotte about how that mall has been in decline for years now, along with complaints about quality and safety.

So Belk officially closed a few weeks ago....I don't suppose the mall has released any stories about a potential replacement anchor? (trying to be optomistic here)

I honestly can't think of any department store that would replace it. There are only so many regional department stores. Even if Greensboro could support the likes of Nordstrom, those kind of stores would most certainly locate at Friendly Center. Macy's is closing its West Wendover location leaving Friendly Center with the only Macy's in Greensboro so it wouldn't be Macy's. They are going to have to find another use for the former Belk store. I doubt there would be another department store anchor there.

It's lost its Belk; we'll see about Chick-fil-A.
