Hard Rock Theme Park coming to Myrtle Beach?

That entry fee was CRAZY. I and SO many people I know wanted to go to the park and we found out it was over $50. So we ended up going to Carowinds. Hell, even Six Flags is $30....Hard Rock ain't no Disney World

Carowinds has it's own issues from lack of investment. It's starting to look run down, and word is the next new rollercoaster will be a 12 year old one purchased from another park.

I understand that Myrtle Beach is suffering badly from over building caused by property speculation that has not gone bust, and smaller numbers of tourists who can no longer afford to go there. And of course since most of the states around MB are out of gasoline, which isn't helping the last part of this year's tourist season.

Is the hotel thats going up on the Pavillion site still happening? I hope that it doesn't turn out that it was torn down for no reason.

^As far as I know, there are no announced plans to do anything with the Pavilion property. It's two city blocks of sand now surrounded by a chain link fence.

They made it official (though not a surprise) that the park will not reopen.

According to the State it sounds like you're SOL if you are owed any debt by the park. I bet a lot of people on the construction side are more than a little peeved right now.

The Pavillion is a great loss, but I can't say the same of Hard Rock.

Interestingly enough this week's Colossal Construction program on the Science Channel is on the building of this park.
