GREENSBORO - Eight more town homes and 10 homes that can also be used for businesses in Greensboro's central business district are expected to be finished in May.

The new homes are part of Southside Neighborhood, which featuers neo-traditional town homes, renovated and new homes, shops and businesses west of South Elm Street south of the railroad.

The neighborhood will include 34 new single-family homes, 38 town homes, and 16 home and business residences.

Prices range from $158,000 to $250,000.

Nine of the units in the third phase of the project have been sold. Almost all of the units in phases 1 and 2 are sold.

"The development of Southside restores this once-proud neighborhood," said Ray Gibbs, president of Downtown Greensboro Inc., a nonprofit working to revitalize the center city.
