After a banner Fringe Festival, October in Philly is what living in

a city is all about.

Festivals every weekend of food, wine, excitement and mingling

among street vendors. There are many competing festivals but

here are my picks for October.

My favorite festival: South Philadelphia Wine Festival VENDEMMIA!

All the greatest restaurants from South Philly ring beautiful Girard Park

plus tents of wine tasting and Opera on two stages all day - Sunday, October 2.

It is a must see!!!! http://www.vendemmiafestival.com/

The largest dragon boat festival in the country kicks off at

Boat House Row Saturday, October 1st. Eight lanes of races

from 8am til 6pm. http://philadragonboatfestival.com/

Philadelphia Open Artist Studio Tours: 100s of cool places to see the artist at work.

October 8 & 9, October 15 & 16 http://www.post.cfeva.org/

Chestnut Hill (Philadelphia's most beautiful neighborhood) has their

annual Fall Arts Festival - Sunday, October 16th http://www.chestnuthillpa.com/fall.asp
