Southend

South End in Charlotte, NC - some discussion

5 posts in this topic

I've been so busy with college lately that over the last 3-4 months, I havent ventured very often into that part of the city except for the occasional desire for some chips and queso at phat burritto. All i have to say is, DAMN! There are new projects sprouting up all over the place that is making that area dense. 3030 south has the plywood coming up, the village is coming up across from atherton mills, there is some condo/townhome complex coming up off of tremont/cleveland, plus there is another condo building u/c on camden near price's, along with the announcement of another office to be constructed at park-camden next year. on top of that, office depot's "urban" store is almost complete. and this is just on the south blvd corridor mainly- i didnt venture down east blvd. that area is making me a believer that light rail can work on the south corridor.

what are your thoughts? and what do yall think of noda? do you ever think its going to hit a serious boom like south end?

when you guys do that, let me know. i'd love to join y'all. there is so much potential as far as having a consistent urban core, extending from downtown to the four geographic directions- its a shame that 277 keeps a lot of it disconnected.
