A local doctor performed the surgery, and everyone's hopeful that he will be able to return in spring.

I doubt if he'd be able to do much then, but he is a tough little guy, and barring anything unforeseen should be back on the field for us next year.

Although the initial prognosis was good, he is now battling infection problems.

There's still hope for a full recovery, but it might take a good bit longer than originally hoped.
