I was at my hair stylist and flipped through a magazine, title now forgotten, and there was a brief passage about visiting Charlotte and the Dilworth neighborhood and it was illustrated with this photo.

I don’t think so. Some of the units maybe. But the pappas property sits lower and Lincoln is build on 2 levels of garage. So their 5th floor is really the 7th.

Pappas property, according to Polaris, is 640-650 ft and Lincoln is 670+/-

Is there a site plan somewhere of this medical building/realtor/office/hotel area? I haven't seen much and on the development maps the links are all from 2014 I think.  I'm really having trouble picturing all this.

There isn't one filed with the city, that is public. I haven't been able to find, and generally I can find anything.

The residential will be Atrium Building #2 now, but the hotel is still planned for the corner. CRRA is the blue building on the left.

Virtually the entire footprint of that building in the FEMA flood plain.

^^^ that is why the Realtors old building was moldy and so cheap when they bought it in a floodplain.   However their new building is elevated slightly

That was a big issue with the former CRRA building and something they supposedly mitigated with the design of the new complex, including raising the elevation of the entire site

Midwood Sundries was smack in that floodplain when it opened xx years ago. Occasionally was surrounded by water but never inundated, as I recall. Sandbags and such.

My understanding is that the city did a lot of work where Sugar Creek passes under Woodlawn — and since completion flooding upstream in the midtown and Myers Park areas (FEMA flood plain around Sugar Creek) has not been as much of a concern. Guess they fixed a choke point.

Excerpts;  "Charlotte-based Atrium Health has significant expansion plans in the works for its flagship campus in midtown.  A rezoning petition filed earlier this month details a request to allow new uses, including potential hotel rooms and senior housing.  The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Hospital Authority, an entity affiliated with Atrium, filed a rezoning to allow a health institution, professional and medical offices, nursing homes, rest homes and homes for the aged, a medical college and/or nursing school, hotels, residential units and "other uses" on a 70.5-acre swath of land.  That property includes Atrium's existing Carolinas Medical Center campus, as well as residential parcels to the south on Garden Trail, Fountain View and Scott Avenue.  Atrium appears to own all of the land, including the residential lots." ... "Atrium filed a separate text amendment with the city to allow helistops — locations for helicopters to land and take off without facilities such as those for refueling or repairs — as a use in the MUDD, or mixed-use development district, zoning category.  Atrium is seeking MUDD with optional provisions for the midtown campus.  As part of its rezoning, Atrium filed proposed greenway improvements, including potential new crossings, trailheads and improved accessibility.  Changes to the road network in and around the site are also detailed in the rezoning.  Atrium announced plans in April to partner with Wake Forest Baptist Health and Wake Forest University to bring a four-year medical school to Charlotte. ^^^ Atrium wants to add 1.3 Million sq ft to their main campus excluding parking garages.  And max height 250 feet according to the above referenced article.
