The Sedgefield-Dilworth gap is a massive one. It is really difficult to get from one to another without getting on South or Park -- both of which are death wish routes for bikes. It is possible to go through Sedgefield Park (the butterfly park!), but it is an awkward bike route due to topography.

So do you think this is a marketing thing because mid-town is more business oriented vs Dilworth that's more like a neighborhood? Or just bad?

Spandrel Development Partners and Atalaya Capital Management are the firms. Morehead and Euclid is the location.

Are their any renderings that show the whole building? Seems like the tip and bottom are cut off in the Observer article

At our meeting a few weeks ago I mentioned I drove that corner and saw men marking underground utilities (or something) with orange paint and a temporary marquee behind the building on the northeast corner of that intersection. I assume this is on the empty lot at that intersection.

Wasn't there a midrise proposed for this corner originally? Same plot or across Euclid?

Across Euclid.  The above project is still moving forward as well.  Actually, on that same block (where the current funeral home is) will be ANOTHER 12 story building that will be senior living apartments.

so basically there is the Sprandrel high rise proposed and the Hannover from Houston project and the seniors only apartment tower.  Morehead is the next hot corridor and with a Medical school down a few blocks too.

Yes that is for the new 26 story tower announced today in the Charlotte Observer.  Spandrel is based in NYC and Charleston I think.

There are two other 12+ story towers rumored on Morehead as well closer to the med school lot. Those are grape vine though. One is at an apartment complex which the developers are trying to buy out.

Either way, in 5 years Morehead will be one of the best blocks in the whole city for urban feel. My one hope is more traffic lights. Cars fly down that street.
