Never knew that Greenville had a motorcycle racing team based here. Check this out. Touring Sport Ducati is based in Greenville. Kinda cool. I've seen these guys scream by me on some of the curvey mountian roads off Highway 11.....thought they looked like a team, but never realized until now.

Did anyone else notice the massive crowds in the West End today? Perhaps coincidentally just a few days after the district was once again rewarded for its revitalization? :shades:

Could the upcoming Bassmaster Classic have something to do with it? Competitors have already arrived .They had official practice rounds this week and they probably have family members with them. Also there are probably plenty of other people in ahead of next weeks events.

Here are some links I've seen from ESPN. Some have already been posted. There are various recommendations for Falls Park and the West End.

Any idea where the Greyhounds and the Seminoles play their games? What teams / cities do they play? :dontknow:

Last year the Greyhounds played at home at the old Travellers Rest High School field. I read on their websight that they are looking for another home field for this season. Beware if you loolook at their website (greenvillegreyhounds.com), because it is a real mess.

An interesting (though somewhat sad) article that contrasts the differences bewteen afordable housing in South Florida and affordable housing in Greenville. Lack of options for the middle class in South Florida and multiple options for the middle class in Greenville. Makes one really appreciate the opportunities found in Greenville.

I don't know who Fritzi Barbour is but I need to find out. I too could use a 22000 square foot home for only $182,500

Fritzi Barbour, a Coldwell Banker broker, showed what $182,500 gets a buyer: a 22,000-square-foot house with a backyard. She added, "And in our market, the average-priced home is around 186-187-thousand."

 Didn't notice that misprint until you called it out. Talk about a bargain....Greenville would see a serious influx of people.

Anyone know the history of this small building? It's behind Capri's / Canal Insurance / The Handlebar and oddly attached via a walkway to Capri's. Kinda of cool that is built into the bridge. Know someone looking for an out of the way spot for a new lounge concept. This little building seems to have some good potential with just a little vision and lot of work. :)

Not sure there is thread for this.

Looks like Mauldin will be starting a landscaping / redesign of the Highway 276 corridor from ICAR through Mauldin in 2009. From this article, sounds as if everything is moving forward. This will be good to see. This stretch of highway leading out of Greenville is in serious need of improvement.

I've always wondered about that place too, it would be cool to see something go there.

The Bob Jones Art Museum satellite gallery opens on April 19th. I noticed the other day they were doing some excavating, like work on a basement or something.

I like the idea of exhibits on the first floor and then more hands on things on the second.

The excavation, etc. beside the building was for the HVAC. A pit was dug to house it in the ground instead of an ugly above-ground eye-sore.

One more museum for Heritage Green, one more to go.

I think Mauldin's new mayor, Don Godbey, is going to do great things for that city. Main Street is desperately in need of help. With the help of Greenville in the ICAR/Millennium campus area, Mauldin might really get a nice entrance from 85 all the way to Butler and on through. I hope they can implement this well.

Anyone need around a total of 1 cubic yard +/- of color-enriched (brown) double ground hardwood bark mulch and topsoil (together)? The mulch color is guaranteed for 18 months (according to the dealer), so it should last you until October, 2009.

I can't deliver it, but if you can pick it up, I'd be happy to help you load it into the back of your truck.
