Nice shots of Hartford... Overall, though, due to the rain and other factors, this has been an extremely disappointing foliage year in New England. A co-worker of mine with family in Vermont said that the tourism industry there is taking a beating there this year... :(

Well you guys can live vicariously through me :D You can ride along on my daily commute to work. I actually live in Grand Rapids, but the site where I work is in Northern Kent County near the town of Rockford, so I'm going the opposite direction of most people. Here's a map of the area:

This is an office park near where I live, that has a trail around the lake in the middle. Great place for a morning walk. Temperature that morning was about 47 when I took these, just right for a light jacket (for you Southerners, yes that's Fahrenheit :) ).

Hard to blame these people for wanting these views year round

Of course, with growth comes the ubiquitous big box at US-131 and 10 Mile (although Meijer did a nice job of placing this store)

Wow, those are some tremendous colors...

Looking through my recent photos, it's not one of my favorites (it's not goin' on my website) but it does give a glimpse of Providence's architectural contrasts and does have some of our last (and few) Autumn colors (Mother Nature was not kind to New England this year)...

Enjoy!

Thanks everyone for the comments. With such a dry year here in Arkansas no one was expecting much. But we got some rain earlier in the week and that seemed to make a big difference. I have more believe it or not. I've gone on a photo taking frenzy the past two days. I'll post them later.

I have a family that lives in Southwest Arkansas and didn't realize that the falls were so vivid there being that far south. Our fall, here, wasn't all that great here.

I can't speak about the whole state but the Ozarks in northern Arkansas is known for being nice. We don't have a lot of pine that much of the rest of the state has. That and not everywhere in the Ozarks is it quite so vivid. The Ozarks have a lot of oak, they turn color of course but they don't usually seem to produce the vivid colors you see in other trees. In the city there's a better variety of trees than just the oak-hickory forest you see in the natural setting of the Ozarks. I've got more pics to post. I've got so many that I'm considering starting a topic for it.

The Dequindre Cut is an unused railroad track that goes into downtown. It has become overgrown, and is currently a beautiful mix of colors. The Dequindre Cut will soon become a bike trail that leads to the riverfront.

In the background is the east tower at Lafayette Towers, one of the few Mies van der Rohe buildings constructed in the city.
