Well it looks as though the $3 million promised to the CCC from the state may not happen. Its a good thing that bean museam in Nowheresville, SC is getting funded though. I'd hate it if something important didn't get funded. This state gives a crapload of money to useless projects, so you'd think that they would be ok with givin gsome money to a real project that is happenning, and that will acutally benefit Spartanburg and SC by its presence. Even our own delegation is frustrated over this one:

Sanford vetoed the $3 million, but the house restored it, and several other funds Spartanburg pork. As long as the general assembly is going to blow through all of this extra money and not save, we may as well get our share. So, good news for the new Cultural Center!

Greetings, folks - I am the new President of The Arts Partnership of Greater Spartanburg. Each week I attend an owners meeting, and usually afterward we do a walk through of the facility. I have taken a batch of photos to share with the future resident groups of the facility, and I am happy to share them with you as well.

To see about 150 photos of the interior and exterior of the Chapman Cultural Center taken in the last two weeks:

And if you have any questions about the project, send them my way!

AND YES< THE PROJECT DID RECEIVE THE $3 M FROM THE LEGISLATURE! The House and Senate overrode the governor's veto on Friday. This will allow us to complete almost everything we had on our contingency list.

Best wishes to all and thanks so much for your interest!
