I'm sure everyone here is exited to hear a new taco & tequila joint is going into the old Wahlburgers.

Solita Tacos & Margaritas is not only to the market, but to the entire East Coast with three restaurants in the Los Angeles area — in Huntington Beach, Long Beach and Valencia — with a fourth to open this summer in Anaheim.

here is a menu, just to get you excited... https://solitatacos.com/menu/dinner/

Down Turkey Lake way, Scott J visits the YH Seafood Clubhouse. The cuisine is Chinese (as you might find on the south coast of Canton). It looks pretty incredible but the photo of the Jumbo Oyster (served tableside!) appears just phenomenal.

I might even be persuaded to hazard a trip down to the edge of the turista zone!

For all our Ohioans who’ve been jonesing for some non-frozen Skyline Chili, you can head out to the new location at Horizon West:

https://www.orangeobserver.com/article/cincinnatis-skyline-chili-announces-horizon-west-location

From The West Orange Times Observer

Kroger, White Castle and now Skyline, is it a Midwest takeover!?!

“Bento Cafe at 121 S. Orange Ave. Suite 130 in Orlando shut down on July 5.

Inspectors found nine violations, four of which were a high priority.

Those violations included flying insects, roach activity and food held at the wrong temperatures.

Officials revisited the restaurant on July 7.”

That’s certainly appetizing!

I inspected restaurants for FL DOH/Orange from 1987-1990. Best diet aid ever! (DOH "lost" restaurant inspections to DBPR in the early 90's. DOH was left with institutional food inspections i.e. nursing homes, hospitals, schools, assisted living facilities)

The worst part was inspecting while expecting my son. Morning sickness is bad enough but really evil in a walk in cooler full of improperly stored food....and raw chicken...

crunchy boiled noodles.

that would explain the Truly Nolen vehicles that were on Pine Street around that time at Court Ave.  I feel bad now b/c I thought they were there b/c of Naposorin Thai.

Orlando landmark Art’s Sandwich Shop celebrates 50 years

They’re only four years behind BEEFY and it sounds like the next generation of the family is going to keep with it. We’ve got so few mom and pops like Art’s, BEEFY and Goff’s, here’s hoping as we grow we’ll get more and more and one day we’ll give places like Pittsburgh a run for their money.

While we’re on the Trail, let’s remember back when Chastain’s was THE diner in town. I miss it so…

I always forget about Christner’s since it’s tucked away just off Lee Road and I rarely get up that way anymore (that may change if I go with the veedub for my next car, now that Ford’s mostly abandoned the car business).

Anyway, it’s 29 years old and still family owned which is so rare these days in O-town. It’s a high-end steakhouse but worth every penny. I am soooo with Scott on the fried oyster app (with ample tartar and cocktail sauce for dipping - I hate when even pricey places give you a quarter sized plastic ramekin- it defeats the purpose). I also love the au gratin potatoes and I’m all about their NY strip.

Anyway , this is a place to head to if you haven’t been in a while. Here’s hoping they go another 29 years and with the next generation here, it’s looking good.

Scott J challenges you to name all ten of the Main Street Districts and lets you know about an August promotion the districts are doing. Don’t miss it!

Maybe it's from spending too much time in this forum, but I have no problem naming the 10 districts.

Also mentioned in the Joseph article is that Eliot and Seth of Orlando Meats are moving on to their new venture- Red Panda- in the near future. If you haven't tried their noodle dishes get to Red Light this Monday for their pop up. But get there early as they do sell out quickly.

We have a new Sonny’s out in Ocoee. I haven’t been to Sonny’s (other than the one in Port Orange) since they closed the one in Pine Hills just past where the E-W Expressway used to end on Colonial Dr. back in the Dark Ages.

Sonny’s has marched a little upscale since the good ‘ol days (I still prefer to eat my ‘cue in more of a “joint”) but it’s nice to have them out here. Great job, Cousin Rusty!

It’s at 11080 W Colonial Dr., just west of Maguire.

I know @codypet has been anxiously awaiting the Official Scott J Review on White Castle and at last here it is:

https://www.scottjosephorlando.com/reviews/50-burger/6156-white-castle

He notes the similarities with Krystal (although the WC burger pictured seems to have much more substance than a Big K ever did - also, WC, which is family-owned, is prospering these days while PEF-controlled Krystal gets worse and worse with each passing month). He also seems to think Daryl Carter Pkwy is in Flamingo Crossing - I thought that was over by the 429?

Anyway, if you live out that way, it seems to be a good fast-fooder with lots of tradition- 101 years! I know you Midwesteners will find it hard to resist!

While we’re up Sanford way, let’s have a shout-out for the return of Bojangles! After an eight-year absence when a previous franchisee closed up all the local stores to depart the business, Bo is back!

Interestingly, ewe heard last year another franchisee was making the return, but they took a powder as well. This is corporate-owned store.

Also, unlike before (which is different from most of Bo’s places), this Bo is all about tenders instead of pieces. Thankfully, the biscuits are still here.

It’s At I-4 and FL 46 if you go - certainly convenient for a stop when making a beach run:

Bojangles is back and going strong in Sanford with new menu
