I grew up in Marshall, 30 minutes northwest of Asheville, went to WCU. Then sowed some oats in Chartlotte for about 2 years. I moved back to Ashevegas (Asheville) and aside from a 4yr stint of being engaged to, and moved around by a hockey player (lived in places like Wheeling, WV - Binghamton, NY - Huntsville, AL etc....) I always find my way back home to my beautiful Blue Ridge Mtn's :D

By the way, I just joined, "HI!" , b/c of the forum I happened to come across by accident about, "Is NC southern or not?" now I can't find it and I definitely would love to join in on the conversation. Any help? Thanks...

I was born in Maryland. Spent most of my childhood in Panama City, Panama. Moved to Tidewater, Va in Jr High. Finished college there. Moved to Charlotte, NC after college. Currently in Fairfield County, CT. Have been here for the last 3 years. Will be moving to Triad, NC in a few mths. Lucky for me I love to move. :D

Hi everyone, I'm new to this board but figured I'd post in here first.

Although I'm "originally" from and still living in Canada, my heart is in Charlotte.

What originally attracted me to the city and area was the Carolina Panthers. I managed to make it down to a couple of games in 2004 and liked it so much I returned in 2005 for another trip.

I have made quite a few "internet" friends down there who I talk to almost daily and keep in touch with all the time.

I live in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada - called myself "QueenCity17" because my city up here is also known as the "Queen City" (as is Charlotte, of course). We were named after Queen Victoria (Regina) of England.

Checking out the new Vue project just makes my mouth water.... guess I'd better start buying some lottery tickets if I ever hope to make my permanent home the penthouse overlooking my beloved BOA......

Yes welcome to the forum QC.

So who's your favorite Panthers player?

BTW, just to stay on topic, I'm originally from So. Georgia, but moved to Charlotte in '80 when I was 12. I moved to South Fla. from 95-97, had a great time but eventually wanted to come back home. Believe it or not IMO people around here just don't seem nearly as uptight as they are down there(So. Fla.). ;)

Native Brooklyn NYer of caribbean descent. Moved to Charlotte because we could buy more house in Charlotte w/ a transplanted NY salary. My maternal family is from a small town in South Carolina and I used to live in (what was essentially a farm) for the summers as a kid so I'm very familiar/comfortable with my southern rural roots but I'm a city girl at heart.

Lets see...

Born in Baltimore but spent the first eleven years of my life growing up in DC, Loudon county and Alexandria VA. Moved to Charlotte at 11 and lived ever since, but stayed every summer in Miami with my cousins. Once in college, went to Howard in DC for a year (Great but expensive), transferred back home to UNCCharlotte, and now starting grad school at the U (Thats Miami for the lames out there :P )
