A story about the Drive's name the mascot contest. I hope they do better with this than the name the team contest. I just can't even start to imagine what the mascot will be.

Do you suppose the city will throw a huge downtown party for the opening night? I can imagine all the buildings being specially illuminated.... okay, I'm losing it now.

I think they'll have a huge fireworks show and a giveway, but hey the buildings could be specially illuminated; you never know. Didn't I hear earlier in this forum that the Drive were thinking of giving Urbanplanet members a tour of the new stadium; is that still on?

As far as I know, it's still on. I will need to contact Nate Lipscomb nearer Opening Day and give him a headcount.

Not sure of the status on the UP Tour, but I'm confident RT will let us know when he hears something.

I think the team and kids involved in the mascot contest should use the animated movie 'Robots' as a brainstorming start. The 3D models are similar to the style you'd link with the 'Drive' name and connection to the automotive industry. I like the non-organic lines and sleek contours, but think they are also appealing to today's kids
