hmmm, it worked on my computer. Try to go here: http://livingdowntowningreenvillesc.blogsp...ll-stadium.html

-If that doesn't work go here: http://livingdowntowningreenvillesc.blogsp...sc_archive.html then go to the date of Jan. 8, 2006. It's the same website skyliner gave in the "downtown living in Greenville" thread today.

That is a good question. I am not sure what they plan to do. I am just so glad they didn't decide to renovate that stadium. I think that would've been a huge mistake, as there is nothing else in that area. We are already seeing the positive effects of building the stadium downtown!

Posting this over here, too, just in case people aren't keeping an eye on the West End Ballpark Construction Thread.

Ballpark Tour Update

I followed-up with Nate Lipscomb on Friday about the tour. He responded and is still willing to give us a peek at the ballpark; however, I'm faced with the classic catch 22. I can't really schedule a date/time until he knows how many people will be in attendance. I can't give him an exact number until we know the exact date/time since so many of us are in and out of town so often. So, I'll go with the high estimate.

Nate wants to meet with me some time soon to discuss this, so I'll need to get a rough estimate of the number planned to be in attendance when we meet.

Please assume that you will all be in town around the end of March or first of April. If you are interested in getting an escorted tour of the new ballpark, please send me a P.M. by the end of next week (Friday, February 10, 2006) to tell me how many will be in your party.

I'll set up a meeting with Nate for after the 10th and will provide him with a rough head count then.

So far, I've got 8 people interested (me + 3, jarvisj3, btoy, and pacersfan218 + 1).

So far, I've got 10 people interested in a tour (me + 3, jarvisj3, btoy, pacersfan218 + 1, and NYTransplant + 1).

If anybody has kids between the ages of 5 and 10, the Greenville Drive and Erwin-Penland will be conducting a photo shoot for this upcoming season's ad campaign at the Warehouse Theatre this coming Saturday from 8am - 4pm.

I'm interested in the tour... and my daughter would love to go too, but there's a chance she may be out of town.

(For some reason, I can't PM. Not sure if it's because I'm still new or just incompetent... probably a little of both. :D )

You're only 4 posts away from being able to P.M. For more details, see this.

In the mean time, I'll mark you down for 2.

So far, I've got 12 people interested in a tour (me + 3, jarvisj3, btoy, pacersfan218 + 1, NYTransplant + 1, and breed + 1).

Individual game tickets haven't even gone on sale yet for the first game, so I don't see how they can be sold out, unless they've sold 5700 season tickets already?

Check with the folks at the Greenville Drive store on Main Street next to Piazza Bergamo. They can tell you when to expect tickets to be available. Brenda Yoder was telling me that they should have been on sale by now, but there have been some delays. They should go on sale very soon.

Awesome, I guess I just heard a rumor.

I'm not sure if he'd be open to that or not. I don't really want to push my luck with him though. He has been very kind in offering us the tour, something that's a perk for even the season ticket holders. I suspect tickets for opening night are going to be tough to come by, especially considering that both of the mini-packs listed on the form above also include opening night tickets. I wish I knew for sure if they were going to have Wi-Fi in the ballpark. If so, I'd possibly sign up for the Businessman's special.

I thought I had already mentioned this, but they ARE going to have Wi-Fi at the ballpark. A very reliable source who knows the person behind the Wi-Fi revolution in downtown Greenville assured me of this a few months ago.

Their not allowed to sell 5,700 season tickets because that wouldn't be fair to the rest of the people who want to go to a game. They can only sell a certain amount of them even though i'm not sure how many that is. I guarantee you would have alot of pissed off people if all of the games were sold out because of season ticket sales.

I found that surprising that they are not allowed to sell all the tickets as season tickets.

Not that it would be in their best interest anyways. You want the casual fan coming to the game and bringing his family. The more different people that attend, means more hats, t-shirts, etc will be sold, ie. more revenue in the long term.

I figured that might be pushing it a bit.

Thanks for the heads-up on the packages. The Weekend tickets look interesting.

If anyone sees the opening day tickets go on sale, please jump and shout and let everyone know! :yahoo:
